2010 Downtown Jacksonville Holiday Window Displays

Jacksonville, Fla.— Mayor John Peyton and the City of Jacksonville invite First Coast families to celebrate the season by visiting downtown holiday window displays created by area artists, designers and businesses. The windows are on display throughout downtown now through Jan. 2, 2011.

“The annual holiday window displays take us back to a time when shops delighted children by decorating their storefronts with magical, enchanting displays during the holiday season.  Our modern-day version of this tradition enhances downtown’s already festive atmosphere,” said Mayor Peyton.  “I encourage everyone to enjoy a special evening by touring the displays while experiencing all the dining and entertainment options that downtown has to offer.”

Felicia Wright of North Jacksonville has been named a 2010 recipient of a full-tuition college scholarship and is pursuing an MBA with a specialization in marketing at University of Phoenix – North Florida. University of Phoenix and its national partner - the HandsOn Network – established the “Serve It Forward” scholarship program to recognize individuals who aspire to further their career through education and service to improve the world around them.
